There is a cheap shelving material that you can buy at Walmart, the dollar
stores, etc that gives you a good grip on the rod so that you can try to twist it. It feels "ruberized" though it is probably plastic. This subject comes up a lot on this board and others and it seems that the most successful method is to build an ice dam around the stuck joint and to ice both ends, not just the male end. It's nice having a big freeze with you everytime you go fishing!! |

Bought it for shelves in an RV, and it does seem to give a better purchase on anything you would hold, the same as those rubber hand-size mats used to remove stubborn jar tops. |
