I was wondering if anyone has used, and could comment on the Rio VersiTip
Fly Lines? Interchangeable tips between floating and sinking. I was thinking of purchasing this line for my 10 wt. reel. http://www.flyfishusa.com/lines/01-rio-versi-tip-1.htm thanks, -tom |

I have 2 veristips (#8 & #9), one windcutter spey with tips and a
cortland multi-tip (#6). People seem to have 1 of 2 attitudes to the versitip, they love them or hate them. Most who hate them cannot stand the loop connection coming back through the guides. I love mine. It is so much easier to carry one reel with tips than an extra reel or spool or more.I have had no problem with hinging etc. They are best for streams and rivers. Less so for stillwater where I prefer full sink lines in any event. Another advantage I have found is my favorite shop sells the line sans the tips for $50. I always found my WF lines would start to wear and crack at the back end of the head. so that saves a fair pice of $ down the road. |

I like my versitips as well. I have 3 sets of them and I have enjoyed
working with them. Padishar Creel |
