Strange happenings.
I have both the Yahoo and Google toolbars installed on Explorer. But when I rightclick on the IE toolbar and deselect the Yahoo toolbar, the Google toolbar disappears, and vice versa. Any thoughts of how this could happen? TIA --riverman |

The problem is that you're using Explorer. To correct this problem you should download and install Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/?Refe...illa%20Firefox While you're at it get Thunderbird as well. -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

Never mind, I must be pretty tired...please ignore me for a bit. :-( (By the way, I uninstalled and reinstalled yahoo and google toolbars in IE6 and it fixed the problem. ) --riverman |

Well, there must be SOME difference. I have it on good authority that debit card users are even stupider than the 95% of credit card users who are too stupid to use them responsibly. but you're right, I've often thought that if a bank wanted to carve a niche for itself it could offer a "high privacy" credit card. Thereby boosting that 95% to 100%. I mean, there's nothing like a flashing neon flag next to one's name to ensure privacy, huh? ![]() But it's probably the MC and Visa companies that are doing the tracking anyways. Leaving aside the charmingly naive notion that it matters much just who is collecting the information that is then bartered around the world, one is still left to wonder where someone who thinks that banks could carve a niche by offering "high privacy" credit cards gets the idea that banks aren't doing some of the tracking anyways. Still, Google seems to be shamelessly promoting a "give us your data" agenda. I use google everyday, I like it, they have a great search engine, I like their news site, but there's no way I'm letting them handle my mail or desktop. I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you.......as long as you keep a good supply of tinfoil hats on hand you should be o.k. Meanwhile, I don't use Google for news......largely because I have some reservations about the value of a news service which seems to have missed the fact that the privacy horse left the barn a long, long time ago. Wolfgang whose "debit" card, incidentally, earns points redeemable for travel and fantastic high tech doodads with every purchase made with the "credit" option......and without the high stress 5% requirement of having to remember to pay off the balance each month. |
