Other than the ideological cretins, lots of folks who voted for this boozy clown seem to grasp at any shred of hope that their vote was not deeply damaging to the country, anything that pushes back the deep underlying shame many feel for the incompetent, corrupt, disloyal, bloody and near traitorous behavior of this President. Im skeptical that reversal of the 3 branch, one party state we now suffer, thru the upcoming congressional elections, is likely. Thus far the administration has been able to keep much of the stealing off the front pages and has even successfully blocked prosecution of $4 billion worth of Iraq stealing in the courts. Only the BBC to my knowledge has dared to cover this story, although I haven't checked out the NYT file. My point is that, although many Bush voters are fed up with the war, most seem to want to avoid knowing any of the specifics of the venality, and are easily swayed by slogans like "well both parties do it" and cling to any shred, even if its an easily detected lie out of Bush's mouth, that allows the average Joe to deny that his vote put this country in jeopardy. I hope I am wrong. Dave |

I hope I am wrong. Dave A man enters a bar and orders a drink. The bar has a robot bartender. The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, then asks "What's your IQ." The man replies "150" and the robot proceeds to make conversation about global warming, quantum physics, biomimicry, environmental interconnectedness, string theory, nano-technology, and sexual proclivities. The customer is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool". He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, then comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him another drink and asks, "What's your IQ?" This time, the man answers "About a hundred." Immediately, the robot starts talking about football, NASCAR, supermodels, favorite fast foods, guns, and women's breasts. Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He returns, the robot serves him and asks "What's your IQ?" The man answers, "Uhh...50, I think." And the robot says......real slowly, "Sooooo....ya gonna vote for Bush again?" |
