Default Fishing the Koi Pond - Part two

Well the tourney kicked off at 5:30 this morning and it was another
banner day with bluebird skies and sunshine everywhere. This would be
the last time I get to fish with Jerry this year, so we had to make it
count. 3 boats launched on One Sock today and after a great day
yesterday, i was sure that the bite would have slowed down, for some it
did but for Jerry and I. It only got better, Boating 21 fish today
between us with an almost even split, we had out limit and were culling
by 9 a.m. We had a slow period where we thought that drop shotting open
water might be the ticket and crankbaits would save the day, But it was
the pattern we hit on yesterday, soft stickbaits under pads and cover
that produced our fish. In one 10 minute period we had 4 fish in the
boat for about 10-11 lbs. Everyone had a great time out as every angler
caught at least 1 keeper. The final tally was

Jeremy and Harry 3 fish for 3.11 lbs- 3rd place
Dave and Mike 5 fish for 8.2 lbs- 2nd place
Randy and Jerry 5 fish for 13.8 lbs- 1st place

Big fish went to me at 3.15lbs

Hoping that next year a few more will attend this event. Sure it's
electric only but we could definetly get at least 3 more teams fishing
the other lake here and maybe even switch at half day. Some great
fishing up here. Hope to see some more of you that want a great weekend
away next year come on by.

Default Fishing the Koi Pond - Part two

It was a good day on the lake. I didn't have sunscreen and thought I was
going to be burnt to a crisp! Not bad though. Mike and I had plenty of fish
but just couldn't get the big bite going. we filled the bag and we were
still hiting fish, but mostly dinks.

I did get a good one on Randy though. It was about 11:15AM and I called
Randy and told him I was packing it in for the day. I said, "I only have one
fish, it's a floater and with the dead fish penalty, I only have about 6oz.
to weigh".

He gets all ****ed off and droped about 4 'F' bombs on me, complaine he
wants the scale, I told him I'll leave it on his car, Then complains he
wants his F'n money and I said, I'll leave it with the scale, I'm done and I
want to go home. He hung up on me!!!

About 15 seconds later, my cell rang and he says, OK, just wait, I'm coming
in. I told him I'm already packed and leaving, he tells me to wait and hangs
up on me AGAIN!!! No respect!

I almost fell out of the boat laughing.

I am fishing the shoreline and across the lake I see Randy and Jerry in the
Crawdad hammering as fast as his little trolling motor can push em. I waved
to em they came over, had a great laugh, he cut us off and Jerry lands a
nice fish 15 feet from us. That's the Justice I guess.

All in all, a great day to fish.

13lbs.????? 13 frickin' lbs.?????? In the retirement koi pond?????
Jeez you guys are sorry excuses for fishermen. You should have been able to
get that weight by just grabbing the ones that came to the surface when the
dinner bell rang. I'm very disappointed in you Dad, I thought for sure that
with you being "retired" you'd be able to talk a few secrets out of the
snowbirds that line the banks feeding the pets.
