Dale,
I friend of yours, Allen, wrote me with a question. I tried several times to reply but something about my net connection or his ISP refuses to work. I don't relly have a good answer for him ... suggest he calls Craig Mathews and asks. I asked a few others and was told Sheepeater area on the Gardiner was good for kids, but I have zero personal experience there.. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Easy access and lots of willing fish, I expect it would be a good place for kids. FWIW -- Charlie... http://www.chocphoto.com |

Larry: I also have always heard that is a great place to take kids to fish, but I have never fished there. I have fished around the Indian Creek Campground and had a lot of fun with the trout around there. Nothing huge, but a lot of fun. I have had several nice days playing with the fish around Norris Junction. I think you gave them excellent adevice in telling them to contact Craig Matthews and the crew at Blue Ribbon Flies. Also, there is a fly shop in Gardiner he should probably touch base with. I suspect that most folks at fly shops want kids to have fun catching a bunch of fish. Big Dale |

To add another voice to the chorus -- on my first (only) trip out there to play with the fishies, I had a wonderful time in that area. I fished the Gardner at Sheepeater and Indian Creek. The brookies were nearly suicidal around the campground, so it would be perfect for a kid (or for a newbie like myself). :-) Chuck Vance |
