The other day I wrote about the solution for laces coming untied.....
Well, that "solution" didn t quite hold up in heavy weeds in fast moving current. I had to cross a chest high moving channel to get onto a heavily weeded sandbar that was still thigh deep and choked with weeds. After moving around for a couple hours I noticed my right boot was coming loose and shortly was flapping around. I had barely made it across the channel, all 5'3" of me standing on tip toes and I didn t think I d make it back with a loose boot. I had to bend over in the water, find my laces in the weeds and sort of tie them to my leg. I got pretty wet doing so. It was 50 degrees and drizzling. I called it quits and made it back across the channel. I think Chota s are in my very near future.... MT |
