Anybody ever deal with eflytyer.com / Mike Hogue / Badger
Creek Fly Tying of Freeville, NY ?

The guy sounds like a thorough fruitcake whackjob but he
sells 4" X 8" hunks of real Amadou for $18 and I'm down
to my last piece of Amadou. I don't mind doing business
with fruitcake whackjobs so long as they don't rip me off.

Never mind. I ordered three sheets straight from the source
at 17 Swiss Francs apiece.

I think the price is gonna be real close and I don't have
to do business with a fruitcake.

I don't know why you got the opinion that Mike is a "thorough fruitcake
whackjob", but I have known Mike and been a happy customer of his for
about a decade and a half now. He knows his stuff and will bust his
butt to make sure you are a happy customer. I first got to know Mike
when he had a few tables at The FFF Southern Conclave and I always
liked the way his parents enjoyed working the fishing shows with him.

Go to Mike's web site and scroll down to the Amadou sheets:

http://www.eflytyer.com/new_stuff/ns_tackle.html

And I quote:

Marc Pettijean's Amadou Sheets: Jumbo sized patch of Amadou. This is an
amazing mushroom raised in Europe, originally used for jacket
insulation, these patches are just incredible. Sucks more than Ithaca's
own war protesting knucklehead-political hack, Tim Joesph. With this
patch, you insert a fly, pinch and it is dry. That's it! Large 4x 8
sheet. $18.00

OK ? Now go he

http://www.co.tompkins.ny.us/legisla...rs/joseph.html

And that's why I think Mike Hogue sounds like a thorough fruitcake
whackjob and that's why I chose to send my money to Switzerland
rather than Ithaca, New York.

Psychosis, Dale. One "thorough fruitcake whackjob" figures that there must
be others like himself out there.

Op --sure gonna miss gettin' a fly from ya this year!--

I agree. I would not do business with him. He has no business slamming
another person like that, although I'm sure it attracts a certain type of
person. You know the type - they have their cars covered with those stupid
"support the troops" ribbons, as if it actually has any meaning.

Mr. Hogue has every right to say Tim Joseph sucks if he wants
to but by saying it on his business web site he could lose a
customer or two. Like me for instance.
