It's the top-posting.

The convention in those Usenet newsgroups that are active, vital
and full of activity is the Usenet standard of putting the reply
below the text you're replying to, like I'm doing here.

Too many people in this newsgroup are top-posters and that'll
kill a newsgroup faster than a 6-4-3 kills a big inning.

Well, it has been quiet, and I do wish I had something to post but that's
just not to be. My son and I went out fishing on Monday, unfortunately, I
missed the only fish that decided to bite.

Now, there's 8 inches of freshly fallen snow, so my year might just be done.

But, if you have a question or concern, I can certainly give my opinion on
that. I just don't have any fresh experiences to discuss.

I don't understand the problem with top posting.
Several groups I use quite a lot for business all top post,
and I prefer it. If there's a stack of conversation on a message, a reader
doesn't need to scroll down to see a bottom post, and if you are reading a
number of postings in a thread, you don't need to
scroll down past the same stuff over and over.

as should be evident by this post top-posting is
that has gone by the wayside here in ROFB. Besides,
in context, but alas that's another Usenet convention
to include only the text necessary to put the reply
saves. It would help if people would trim their posts
see what on earth the poster is referring to than it
the case top-posting causes more scrolling down to
a thread, but on a Usenet newsgroup where that's not
list is assumed to have read every previous email in
Top-posting is OK for email when everyone on the email
