Default GFS2007 - Progress report

I hauled the whole lot of 'em into the office today & made use of a
conference room table. Got all of them sorted & mostly packaged.

A few swappers, including a couple who ought to know better, just
didn't send appropriate return packaging. Yeah, your little flies &
little tags fit just fine in there, but no way Larry's popper & a
couple others were going to squeeze into that little ziploc or that
compartmented fly box. You guys have to wait until I get you a bigger
box tomorrow.

Kudos to all, however, for an excellent job on the tags. Only a
handful came loose, and that part of the job was a breeze. Special
thanks to Eddie Jasen for helping carry Tony's load.

As of today, I expect to get at least the 7 easy ones into the mail.
If I had to lick it, write on it, box it, or do anything other than
pack it & seal it, yours will be lagging behind a day or two.

And, tho it's oft repeated by swapmeisters, a really nice job by all
of the tyers. As a novice and infrequent practicioner of the craft, I
am humbled and impressed by what you guys can do.

Lastly, I'll be digging out my vise & tripod for individual pix asap,
and I'll try and put them up on the same website as the swap info. I
took a few shots of the sorting, but I can't upload them thru the
company system, so that'll have to wait until tonight.

TOS,
Joe F.

Oh dear, the expectancy, the anxiety, did I do right or did I messed up
something. I may never know. I will have to talk this out with my
analyst. 8^]

Many thanks for the time and patience Joe. :-)

Now back to your regular nonsense. :-P

You're good, save that psychoanalysis fee. :-) In your case, it's
only the customs declaration that's slowing me down.

If you'd like, I'd be honored to give the photos a place of honor on my
website right next to the DDFS 2005 (
http://css.sbcma.com/timj/pics/ddfs2005_1/ ). Stan was going to do the DDFS
2006 photos, but he's just too damned busy lately. . . heck, we'll be lucky
to get in some Springtime bluegill fishing this year.

Just email the photos to timj at sbcma dot com.

You got a deal. As soon as I shoot 'em, I'll get 'em to you.

Yeah, life sucks sometimes, but sometimes you win. Class got out at 7
tonight and I stopped at M&D and it's $3 draft week! Mahrs "U" and Fest
Weisse on tap for $3 - it's a sweet thing. I had a hard time leaving after
one of each. And there's supposed to be Bink blonde, bruin and trippel on
tap this weekend. See if you can get a kitchen pass for the day Saturday.
We're planning two sessions with a supper break somewhere in town.

Well, it's a learning curve every time I do this; but I finally
figgered out the new camera & managed to persuade it to focus properly
in macro mode. I took a few passable images, but before I get down
into full scale, put-em-on-the-web production, I thought I'd solicit
an opinion on background color.

Because the frame size is so small for these, I pretty well have my
choice of backgrounds. White is easy, and I also have pastels of
blue, orange, yellow, green, etc. For each specific fly, there's
probably a "best" color background to show it off; but in general,
what's your opinion as to the best background?

Okay, almost everybody is in the mail as of today. I still need to do
the customs declarations on you overseas guys, but I picked those
forms up today, and yours will be in the mail tomorrow.

Photos pending.

Again, thanks to all.

YOS,
Joe F.

Hopefully, you're asking the group and not me. I need my wife to put
together my shirts and slacks or I am a walking fashion faux pas.

I gather you're another for whom "Are you wearing that?" isn't really
a question. :-)
