Default Herter's stuff

I have 2 of their books:

1) The Herter's guide manual.

2) The Herter's Bull Cookbook
which came with a hunting knife.

I also had a Herter's number six, I believe that was the model, fly tying
vise which I cannot find, unfortunately.

It was a great company with a wonderful catalogue and items that kept a kid
in rural Tennessee, supplied with outdoor gear, both during the later stages
of WW2 and after it's conclusion.

I just typed in their name ( herter's.com ) and it took me to Cabela's
site. Jim

Herters went to Gander Mountain for a while. Some of it may still be
there. Then it went to Cabelas. I think the only thing Cabelas has
is a few decoys and hunting stuff. All made in PRC or course. The
name is all thats left. You can't buy a Model Perfect Bear Trap any
more.
