Well the sun was blazing again today is good ole Ohio, took all three little
ones to a local park with 3 small ponds in it. took 1 rod for me and 4 for them,(One always get's tangled beyond shoreline repair). they insisted on some nightcrawlers so we stopped and got a few. i baited them all up and sure enough they were all into fish right away. seems there was a big population of bluegills feeding like pigs. They each caught and released about 20 a piece. As i went from one child to the next putting on pieces of worms, i was wondering if I was ever going to get a cast in, but it didn't seem like it would happen, so i bobbered up and downsized my hook and put a little piece of worm on. My worm cauht about 6 or 7 bluegills and got smaller by the second. the kids had a blast, we had some bobber races, when my bobber took off under the water, I pulled back just to see this nice 3+ bass jump and spit the hook, Oh well wasn't expecting that, but i'll be back in the a.m solo.. a great day out with the future generation of fishing, i'll post some pictures later on a.b.p.f -- WWW.GOTOBAITS.COM PREMIUM HAND POURED BAITS |

I borrowed my uncle's bicycle, strapepd my fishign pole and my tackle box to the handle bars and headed. On a whim I broke branch of a tree and tied a piece of lien to it. Then I turned over a few rocks and baited it up with a nice little worm and tossed it out with a float. I then made my frist cast with my fancy fiberglas Daiwa rod and Olympia spinning reel. I made about one crank to retireve my little rooster tail when the bobber disappeared on my stick. I qucikly swung in a littley 12" bass baited up and flipped the worm back out. I hadn't even gotten myu hand onto the handle of my reel before the bobber disappeared again. A quick flip landed a second bass the clone of the first. I re-baited and tossed out the bobber one more time. I actually managed to get the rooster tail almsot to the bank beofre the bobber disappeared again. 13" bass #3 quickly came to shore. It actually managed to make a cast and retrieve before yet another bass tried to steal my stick. All in all I caught 6 bass in about 6 minutes on scavenged worms tied to a stick. Then the sun peaked over the hoeizon and they stopped biting on anything. Anyway, don't ever write off those little ponds in Ohio or night crawlers. They can both produce a good time. P.S. I never had bluegill action like that, but I caught did catch gills and bullheads in Ohio ponds so small you could almost jump across them. There is some ncredible fishing in your new home state. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
