If a man were to try DSing on the Ohio what type of areas would he try ...
I can find fish [on sonar] but I'll be darn if I can catch anything. Just to prove to myself that there are fish where my sonar says there is [ bridge base ] I rigged a huge treble hook with a 2 oz sinker and snagged a drum on my fifth try .Got snagged up and lost my heavy weight , but I know that fish are there.Hell - I have trouble catching fish drop shoting at a lake ..In a lake I can always figure out ,most of the time, where the fish are. I can always find fish on a steep point- or in shallow grass- standing timber- laydowns or maybe drag a ditch line , but with river fishing nothing ever seems to work two days in a row.River fishing is just plain and simple " hard as hell".While river fishing is hard ,the rewards are great from the house to the river and in the water -10 minutes.Never knowing what you've got hooked is fun and in the last two weeks I've hooked and lost the biggest fish of my life . I hooked a drum that had to be as big as the hood of my truck. Sorry for rambling , it's early Ken |
