![]() C Dog, I get what you're saying about being just a bug fisherman, but a lot of people use streamers, attractors, and other patterns that may not resemble an actual bug. To say they are not "fly" fisherman I think would be busting a lot of people's balls. What about salt water fly fishing, where I mostly use streamers that resemble bait. Is that not fly fishing? PS: All in good fun. PS: All in good fun. Mike BB, As you said...lets keep this fun everyone. I think we would all agree that fly fishing is all methods of fishing with a fly rod and reel. Except for techniques where bait, snagging, and lining are involved. I hope none of you use worms on a fly rod. Personally, when I see someone using glo bugs (unsented), I have no problem with it. But, I do say to myself..."He's taking the easy way out." Cause anyone, even my 7 year old, can catch trout on a glo bug. When it comes to streamers, I am inexperienced, so I stop and watch guys fishing this technique, to see if I can learn something new. I think one of the main reasons I've stuck with fly fishing, where as I've pretty much given up bass fishing, is it's diversity. Everytime I go to the NJ Fly Fishing Show I learn something new at the seminars. For example; last year I attended a seminar by Ed Engle and learned a nymphing technique I've never seen before. What a great sport we've chosen huh...or did it choose us?
