Yep, sure did...ordered my first ever custom 'boo rod from John Kenealy,
and it only took me 4 months to make up my mind to spend that kind of money
on a bluegill/bass rod. The rod will be finished in Feb. so now I can
anticipate while the snow flies. I can still remember that sensual feeling
of casting that little beauty at his casting pond, nothing like it.

It's a disease man, and you caught. My sympathies.

Gear whoredom has struck the King of Cabelas, ROFF will never be the
same.

A moment of silence please, for the passing of an era. G

Four months? C'mon admit it, you were sold before you left the pond
....

....you're right of course Steve, but it took me that long to get over the
guilt trip. Now I have to spend even more bucks on a reel, and since I'm
a stealth fisher that rules out a Hardy. An Orvis CFO comes to mind. Does
it ever stop?

Which, of course, are built by Hardy.

Stop?
You already know the answer to that. No! of course it doesn't stop.

What you should be looking at now, to match that 'boo rod from John Kenealy,
is of course a reel that will be of similar quality and of course hand made.
Why not an Ari 't Hart from Dutch reels or a Custom Paradigm reel from Ted
Godfrey.

Then you will have left Cabelas for good. Not to speak of your wallet ;-)

Yup. I can lay out various Hardys next to my CFO collection and the
similarities of construction cannot be dismissed as coincidence...

....true enough, but I want the silent operation of the CFO.
