Hi all.
I am travelling to Los Angeles from Australia next month for a short stay, and was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are any trout fishing waters within 100km (60 miles) of Los Angeles. I will be staying in the Grand Terrace area which is towards the San Bernadido area . Also are there any reputable tackle shops where waders could be purchased?. |

Okay, you don't measure distance in LA by miles or kilometers, you go by time. http://www.bobmarriotts.com/ World's largest fly fishing only store. About an hour from where you're staying. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...=94&storeID=52 Bass Pro in Rancho Cucamonga is about 25 minutes from where your staying (all times based upon non-rush hour) I would go to Bass Pro and ask in the fly shop. Your best bet would be up in Big Bear lake and the environs, above San Bernadino. Email me and I can get you on to some people who fish that a lot. Frank Reid |

I really liked the west branch of the san gabriel river, above Azusa. Small trout and you'll scare lots more than you see or catch but its a nice hike and a lot of fun. no waders necessary, and a 2 wt is perfect. |
