There always is.

I had a dream. I dreamed I went to the best fly fishing venue in the
world. Not surprisingly, I was thereafter left with the prospect of
searching out the second best fly fishing in the world.....and then
the third, and the fourth, and the fifth......

And then I woke up to the realization that I had thus far experienced
only the 38,426th best fly fishing in the world......and that there
wasn't a chance in hell that I'd ever experience even the 10,000th
best. Life would, for the duration, be an uphill climb with no hope
of reaching the summit. I would never be cursed with a dismal future
of looking down at a conquered and diminshed world; I would always be
blessed with the promise of looking up in joyful expectation and
anticipation. It makes my neck hurt.....sorta like looking at
warblers in the spring woods. I like that.

On the other hand, I have already fished with the best people in the
world.....and there is no looking down from there.

On the other other hand, them's some fine looking fishies!

who spent this morning pestering a bunch of excellent folks ranging in
age from 12 to 74 and learning the rudiments of bird banding.....or
pretending to, anyway. i liked that, too.
