1. Florida

Kansas Others receiving votes: Oregon St. 122, Illinois 105 My prediction for the championship game on Jan. 7 in Pasadena: USC Trojans turn back the Crimson Tide of Alabama in a close one. Two Big 10 teams in the top 10, that's surprising, but six from the SEC and Big 12 is not. Wayne Knight's Bayou Bengals are ranked 11th and Wayno's Tarheels 21st. Good luck, boyos. My Illini are 27th based mainly on the strength of our returning offense led by senior QB Juice Williams and a supposedly stellar receiving corps. We'll see, I'm always nervous to see the Illini anywhere near the preseason polls. -- Ken Fortenberry |

Hell, I've already shipped a lifetime supply down there and I don't see any sense in contributing further to the demise of your poor liver. ;-) -- Ken Fortenberry |

Now if they can just live up to the preseason love. However, BYU starts at Oklahoma (in Dallas), at Tulsa, then Florida State at home. Has potential to be ugly. Russell |

Tom fwiw, this will be Penn State's year. I'm here, damn ya! Did ya not read my post about our star quarterback and how his lawnmower viciously attacked him! He wound up receiving 40 or so stitches in his foot, or so I'm told? Anyway, ya wanna make some bets on the season or should we just go ahead and say the Appalachian State Mountaineers will go undefeated and win another National Championship! Opie --modest to a fault, when it comes to his almermater football team :~^ ) -- |
