Default TR - '09 fishing round up

My cousin (Sam) and I spent last week in the Clearwater National Forest
fishing for wild Cutthroat. Last trout trip of the season. We saw temps in
the low to mid 80's w/ blue skies all week, waded wet the entire time. The
fish were cooperating, looking to dryflies all week. Mostly October caddis
size 12/14, mid-mornings/evenings PMD cripples and parachute adams in 16/18
would do the trick.

Our favorite place to camp over the 20 plus years we have enjoyed this area:
This time of year there are generally more hunters that fisherman. A buddy
of mine was archery hunting Hoodoo Pass, not far as the crow flies from our
location. They took two elk, figured they has about 39 miles on foot packing
the game out. Despite the temps in the 80's they managed to recover all the
meat with no loss. I can't imagine in that heat...

Streamside tailgating... Beer coosie compliments of the 50K bar. My bride
was really impressed...

Cutthroat release... Love the Olympus 1030 the folks of roff turned me onto.

Sam and I had a good year fishing despite the near 800 mile distance between
our daily posts. We had the opportunity to spend time on the Bitterroot,
ClarkFork, Green River, South Fork or the Snake, Henry's Fork, Henry's Lake,
Kelly Creek, and North Fork of the Clearwater. He's a great friend, cuz and
fishing buddy.
I hope to get in a couple steelhead trips before years end... Looking
forward to 2010...
