Default Settling in

We closed on the new home on Jan 11, and are finally settled in. We
are very happy with everything so far. The neighbors are super - had
us over for champagne our first night, and then the few neighbors that
are here had a welcoming dinner on our first week-end. There is a part
timer (lives most of the time in Alabama) who lives two doors down and
is supposed to be an avid flyfisher. Can hardly wait to meet him.

Relatives visited us this past week-end, with more due on Friday of
this week. Even Mildred (remember Mildred all of you at Fortenberry's
NC Clave?) will visit on the week-end of the 5th. I was engaged to
Mildred 50 years ago. She lives in nearby Franklin, NC.

With a booze locker that was totally empty (the house has a wet bar), I
sprung for some hard stuff today and treated myself to a bottle of 15
yo McCallan Single Malt. I am sipping as I type. I had forgotten how
smooth it is. There is see-through stuff for the boy lawyer (good
stuff, not that crap he normally drinks), and a small insufficient
supply of Yuengling for Jeffie. A couple of bottles of bourbon for
those so inclined, some tequila for all you crazy *******s, and some
rum for you Cuba Libre types. Hell, there's even a bottle of that
there Frenchy stuff Grand Marneaire for Richard.

I was supposed to go fishing this past Saturday, even though we had
house guests, but the weather was just too wet. Both Saturday and
Sunday saw heavy rains and some thunder storms. Sort of neat watching
it all come in from the western mountains. Many of the streams here
are like Penns - if it rains, they muddy up pretty quickly. (No
offense meant, Tom.)

I checked out Dukes Creek yesterday, and will probably fish it this
Wednesday. Water looked good inspite of all the rain.

Now back to your regular programing........

Dave
(damn, this is some fine sippin' Scotch.....)
