Should ya buy vests a size bigger than you would a jacket or shirt? I was
out Steelheading on the Silver River in Michigan's Western UP the other day and was wearing a T shirt, heavy flannel shirt, waders and had my vest on over all that and it was a bit snug. Lou |

Lou Well, it should fit alright when you already have all the other gear that you are going to wear on, otherwise it will restrict you considerably. I donīt like vests much, for this reason. I tend to wear jackets for most of my fishing. Especially when it is cold, and I am wading etc, then I use a short wading jacket, ( which only has a couple of small pockets), over my breathables, and carry a chest harness pack with a rear pocket, for my gear. A vest full of stuff, whether it fits or nor, tends to be restrictive anyway. and will not usually keep you very warm either. TL MC |

If one will lay off the donuts, they seem to fit me a little better

Take the advice of a "plus" sized fly fisherman. An oversized vest is
MUCH easier to deal with than an undersized one. |

A vest full of stuff....... will not usually keep you very warm either.
In my experience, Mike, that is true in the winter. In the summer, however, a vest does a very effective job of keeping one VERY warm. vince |

Thanks to all who offered advice..I use a chest pack much of the time and
I'd better just move into one that offers a rear gear pocket... Lou "Louis Owen" wrote in message ... Should ya buy vests a size bigger than you would a jacket or shirt? go by the cardinal rules
if its tight you need something bigger if it fits just right you need something bigger if its a little oversize you need something bigger and if its too big its just right OTR wrote in message ...
