Have any of you folks where the cicadas are hatching had an opportunity
yet to observe if they're affecting the fishing, i.e., are many ending up in the water and are fish rising to them? JR |

JR I fished a central PA stream during the 1991 hatch of brood XIV, and the cicadas did fall on the water and the trout definitely consumed them. We had no fly that adequately imitated them, so I developed my own using a collected specimen. Still have the specimen as a model. I feel very well prepared in the event I run into any Brood X cicadas. Jeff |
