Default TR Slow-release organic fertilizer

SWMBO is on a rose bush kick this year. Somebody around here
had a bunch of Jackson & Perkins on sale really cheap so she
bought up a bunch of them. (I've always said she'd buy donkey
**** on a stick if they priced it at 80% off. ;-)

My grandma taught me to put a little bluegill in the bottom of
the hole whenever you plant a rose. The decomposing bluegill
provides a natural, slow-release organic fertilizer and helps
the rose bush get established. Or so the story goes. Anyway,
it's worked well enough for our other rose bushes so I was
actually encouraged to go out and catch some bluegill. Good
thing too, those toadies Wolfgang promised never showed up so
I've been doin' all this honeydew **** myself and haven't had
time to go fish at all.

I was wearing heather grey Jockey Sport boxers under Guatemalan
short pants ;-), as I strung up the 1 wt with a yellow foam spider.
Kipper the hound heard the reel sing as I stripped off line to
string up the rod so he came tearing through the house to stand
at the back door and announce his heartfelt desire to accompany me.

Not much to tell about the actual fishing, I needed to plant four
rose bushes, caught three fish in as many casts and then played
"yank it away at the last possible moment" for awhile to extend
the outing. With polaroids you can watch the bluegill rush to the
fly, then eye it for just a moment before committing themselves
to the strike.

Great fun, if only for a few moments.

You must have been looking at some VERY old pictures. You'd have
a better "visual" looking at Timmaaay in a Speedo than at me in
my boxer shorts.

i have heard tell that human hair is great for the garden- maybe rose bushes
as well. i have known people to go to hair salons, and collect that hair
that gets swept up off of the floor.
