A fly tying event will be held Saturday, March 13, at the Activities Center of
Folsom Lake State Park from 9 AM until 3 PM. Several experienced fly tyers from area fly clubs will be showing how they tie their favorite patterns. In addition, there will be fly boxes featuring many of the flys sold in a silent auction. A lot of innovative flys are produced at these events, and the tyers enjoy discussing them. The event is a fund raiser for the non-profit Northern California Council, Federation of Fly Fishers. It is hosted by the Granite Bay Flycasters. Admission is $5. Attendees can watch tyers at their art or tie along with them (bring your own tying gear). To reach the Activities Center, enter the Park at the Granite Bay entrance, which is the east end of Douglas Boulevard in Roseville. Admission to the Park is free if you tell them you are going to the Activities Center. After entering the park, take a right at the second stop sign, then an immediate left. Dave |
