Default Humminbird Smartcast user report

I just bought the SmartCast RF30 (wrist-mount model).
First, I tried it on a trout river. It found fish at 3ft
in a 5 ft deep hole. I let my wet fly drift over the hole,
and caught my first trout! Today, I tried it on a
Corps of Engineers lake, and saw nothing in all directions
from several access points. Then, when I was about to
give up, the gadget spotted 2-3 fish on the edge of a
small drop off at about 10-12 feet. It was starting to
rain, so I didn't try to catch them :-(( Absolutely
the coolest thing since pop-top lids.

After using the RF30 wrist mount, I think I'm going to
go back and buy the RF20 pole-mount. The RF20 has greater
range (I can cast the RF30 beyond its signal range of 75 feet),
and watching the RF30 on my wrist while cranking-in is
a little awkward. I've got an old, cheap collapsible rod
fitted with an old Zebco that I can dedicate as my
"fish finding rig."

Hope this info is useful to the group.

Jim.
