If I'm not mistaken, we're looking downstream and just to the right, out of sight around the alders, is a fair sized shallow pool with a big rock in it just at the top of a long (and usually relatively unproductive riffle. 032840 confirms that I am at least in the right neighborhood.  If this is the place I'm thinking of, it's where I happened to run into a terrific flight of pternonarcys one July evening some years ago and just happened to be armed with some LARGE yellow stimulators........the stuff that ever improving memories are made of!
