Went out to fish the Trico/BWO hatch this AM and ran across a cinnamon
colored Black Bear. http://www.crystalglen.net/Fishing/Bear.htm Caught several nice fish while the shade was on the water. I'll get some pix of the hatch up in a couple days. I also put up a few pix of a trip I made with Rusty Hook this past Summer. http://www.crystalglen.net/Fishing/Rusty.htm Willi |

I had a HD go tits up and ended up buying some fancy recovery software a couple of weeks ago to retrieve the pics from the HD. I was able to recover all of the data from the HD so now I just need to finish arranging, editing, etc. I did finish both of the slide shows. I may try putting one on the web. -- Warren (use troutbum_mt(nospam) and earthlink dot net to reply via email) |

God, I hate it when the drive crashes!! Remember the days when we were advised to always back up our disks on the HD? Seems like the word is now to always back up your HD on disk! --riverman |

I still can't figure out why it crashed and that really annoys me. For some reason it said the drive was formatted as RAW and I couldn't access anything on it. This didn't happen because of a virus or anything else that I could identify either. I tried several programs from quite a number of vendors that claimed their product could retrieve lost data from hard drives even if there was some sort of mechanical failure in the HD itself. After about a month of trying a bunch of them, I finally found one that could and I was able to retrieve all of the data from the hard drive. If you ever need such a program, I recommend GetDataBack from http://www.runtime.org/ Well worth the cost ($79) IMHO. Since this last fiasco I am not only backing up everything to another HD, but also to CD. It has kind of been a pain in the ass organizing all of my pics, but I broke them down into categories like 2002, 2003, 2004, Conclaves, etc and then created a sub folder in each with the date that I downloaded the pics or an easily identifiable name (I.e. Western Clave 2004). You can never have too many backups..... -- Warren (use troutbum_mt(nospam) and earthlink dot net to reply via email) |
