Default Line stripper...

Today I received my spooling station which included a free line stripper!
Much to my disappointment, I thought the line stripper was more like a line
dancer who takess off clothing..but this is a bit more helpful..once you
figure out how to put the batteries in.

I spent 15 minute trying to figure out why it kept jamming up everytime I
started to strip the line..I read the directions..reread the directions, hit
it, yelled at it, screamed...in the end, I just had the batteries in
backwards.. That fixed, it works like a charm.

See what a Calc III test does to one's mind?

Is this the Berkley brand stripper? I sent The Bass Pro one of these, plus
gave one to my son Sean. I think they're great.

The best line striper is made from a 16 Oz plastic drink bottle.

Here is how you make it

take the cap from the bottle, and drill a 1/4 inch hole in the center

Put a 1/4 inch by 1 inch bolt in the hole, from the inside out, put a
nut on the bolt and tighten. Screw the cap on a drink bottle, chuck the
bolt into your drill.

It takes less than 30 sec to strip a reel on to the bottle, when the
bottle is full toss it away, and use another bottle,, just keep the cap
in your tackle box, it will last for many, many years

Similarly, I chuck an empty bulk line spool on threaded rod up in a cordless
drill. I'm still searching for the ideal cluch washer so I don't wrap a rod
tip around the spool someday. FWIW, I'm too lazy to take the line out of
the guides. I despool directly off the reel & leave some backing on and I
haven't munched one yet, in ten years.

Use two hose gaskets, and flat washers for a clutch on that old spool,
just lightly finger tighten the nuts, that hold the spool to the all
thread, you can adjust the amount of slip. It it still grabs too much
or not enough, apply some reel grease between the washer and gaskets

Finder washers is what you use on this,, they are wide enough with a
little hole
