Hi All,

Set up a small website that just shows the two areas. Heck, same parking
lot . . . less than 7 minutes away for the Kiddie Pool . . .3 minutes from
the Upper Texas Hole.
( with the BS happening during between the two, while fishermen talk to each
other)

This is only to clarify a bit where they are located.
Here is my small contribution to showing the area:

( knowing the other folks are just bashing . . .thought I'd just give the
location of the bashing . . .sigh)

TROLL!

Nice photos Dave. Thanks. You should make a page of your sunrise photos there,
too.

Myron and I were there a few days after you were, and we did fish the kiddie
hole for a while one morning. When we got there it was empty, but it filled up
pretty fast and I left, I think Myron stayed a while longer than I did. FWFW

Yeah, when I noticed you were gone, I fished about 10 more minutes and beat
feeted it up to where you were. I think I fished it about 20 minutes more
than you; when I left there were maybe 5-8 guys there. I ended up fishing a
shallow flat about 200 yards upstream, at the bottom of a long, wide
section, that held about 20 big fish that were very discriminating.

Let's see.... hmmmm.... In my short experience I'd say the Kiddie Hole has
some of the toughest fish on the river. Once in a while they really get
stupid there but it's rare. The fish move in and out, there's lot's of
small fish, and they aren't really more beaten up there than elsewhere. It
gets pounded, yes, but there's about a million fish there and it's an
incredible midge factory. The bugs never stop there. Pretty amazing if you
ask me. There's only two guides that I've ever seen working there, AK and
his other guide Jerry, that's it. They don't really do much dry fly fishing
with clients (not that I've seen anyway).

I love the back bowls by the big rock (I was there Sunday), but the sight
fishing and dry fly fishing is way more consistent around KH. I spend
hardly any time there and very little around TX Hole, but you've got to
admit there's a reason that they are so crowded besides stupidity.

Don't forget that you can come see this place for yourself when we all get
together January 15-18, 2005. We'll have side trips to the Animas also.

If anyone except Willi wants to fish the Kiddie Hole all day I'll give you
$1 for every fish you catch. They aren't that easy.

By the way, it's been a few years since I've seen anyone fishing for the
fish at their feet and I can GUARANTEE you that RW's never done that. We
fish downstream and not too far out all the time but never to those pet fish
in our wake. There are fish everywhere in the Juan and we walk right up to
them and sight fish with nymphs often.

Hey Bruce and the rest of the 'Juan crew!

It's about that time of year where I check in and see if this trip is on
and when it is. It only took a few seconds to find this info!

I hope to make it. The date's are on my calendar. I hope there's water
in the river.

I'm not currently reading the group - no time! If you want to talk to
me, build an email address like this:

first name @ last name.org

I'll be scouting out the Juan the weekend of November 20th, if not before.

I haven't had much time to fish this summer (not counting the couple of
weeks in the Yukon catching grayling until I was bored!).
