Believe me, I was glad when I heard the decision of those two judges! Means
I don't have to pack heat when I go to the polls tomorrow :-)

On the other hand, if they have the same octogenarians (nonagenarians?)
working the polls that were there last time around, there just may be a riot
yet!

While I don't think (don't *think* mind you, but what do I know?) that my
polling place is one where either party is concerned with fraud, I haven't
gone up to vote yet. But now that I've had my second cup of joe, it's time
to lock and load (metaphorically speaking, of course) and run the gauntlet
of democracy!

hey bill,

it took me about 30 minutes to vote at 6:30am. i had to park a few
blocks away, but there no "challengers" at my polling place, and one of
the poll workers was a quite attractive young lady. so all in all, the
gauntlet wasn't so bad. how was it on your end?

The polls open at 6 a.m. here in Illinois. I walked over about
6:55 and received the 100th ballot issued (the election judges
numnber the outside of the envelopes.) Took me about 20 minutes
to vote. Traffic will slow down after 9 and pick up again after
5 of course, but still 100 votes in less than an hour is a HEAVY
turnout, especially in the cold rain and considering Illinois
has been solid blue since 1992.

Success, and painless. Didn't have to wait at all. Nonagenarians replaced
by youngsters (college kids?) and septagenarians, elementary kids selling
cookies, and not a challenger in sight. I fear I live in the "wrong" kind
of neighborhood to be challenged.
