I'd have to say Minn-Kota!
"Boilermaker" wrote in message ... I have used Minn Kota's for years with very little trouble. My Mag 40 would have been 19 yrs.old next spring. However, it bit the dust a couple of weeks ago. Had been drawing excessive amps which kicked breakers now and then and finally froze up. I was told that no parts are available for this dinosaur anymore so I guess I'm in the market. Would appreciate your recommendations. |

My neighbor has a Motoguide and I have a Minnkota. Neither has given us any
trouble. The Minnkota feels more solid and rugged to me, but that is just my opinion. I know my neighbor also thinks the Minnkota is better made, but both have worked well. I've used motorguides for several years now and have no complaint really
except I hate the way the gator mount mounts on the boat with those expandable screws thangies. No matter how tight the screws are screwed down the motor always looks like it's gonna tear out of that boat one day when I'm on the water using it. Anyone else have this opinion? -- God Bless America Josh The Bad Bear |

My Motorguide was mounted with stainless steel bolts all the way through the
deck with stainless flat washer, and stainless nylock nuts on the inside. "Joshuall" wrote in message ... Mine too Bob. Josh, just pull those rubber thingies out & mount it the real
way, just as Bob described. Warren "Bob La Londe" wrote in message news:1102100357.5MDgS0WLZwjFLmgqUA5cRQ@teranews... Rodney telling someone else about "stubborn pride" lol WHat you call My stubborn pride is based on scientific testing, head to head fishing with the "real" pros, and actual testing of my inventions by "real" pros, not on what I just "believe", so when some amateur claims my stuff is snake oil, I can set the record straight with real facts,, not assumptions. Warren's own words below show that he does not base his "beliefs", or his claims about products on any facts, just like Motor Guide, he bad mouths products, before he test them. He claims to have all knowledge, yet it is not based on actual facts,, just his feelings,, well his feelings are wrong, and are wrong a lot of the time on this group. If he ever wants to become a real professional bass fisherman, he needs to keep his eyes and his mind open, try different stuff, and actually listen to what others say, instead of trying to be the know it all. He bad mouthed my Rock Hopper weight, yet he has not ever used it, and the California pro's are raving about it as the greatest Texas and Carolina weight ever invented, allowing them to fish the worst rocks with almost no snagging, we have one pro that fished 3 tournaments, and all the pre fishing in the worst possible rocks, all on the same weight. SUre you will loose one every now and again,, but this weight will fish 100 times over anything else on the market in the worst rocks and brush Yet Warren tells everyone it's snake oil On The Stand Out Hook, Warren says it's just a bent piece of wire,, I guess he forgets all hooks are just a bent piece of wire, when I told him every fish is top lip hooked, that it is impossible for a fish to swallow the hook, he says that garbage, it is not so, yet I have documented 1,392 (over two years fishing with it) fish caught (many different species) with it, and not one of them had swallowed the hook, everyone of them top lip hooked. WHen I tell him it Kicks the lure when the line tightens against the weight, giving an exciting new action, he again says B.S., yet it can easily been shown, even in the air. WHen Warren claimed that the moving bungee scared fish he was again LYING out his teeth, as we have hundreds of underwater movies of it actually attracting fish. Now I can understand "him" not being able to fish with this productively, as it is the hardest way to fish, it takes a little practice, and you need to know what action catches fish, and then be able to produce it. It is no longer the manufacturers design that controls the action of the lure, but the fisherman "totally" controls it. He can't get past the two dimensional cast, and retrieve he does, Three dimensions blows his mind Warren says I'm conning fishermen, That I am nothing more than a charlatan, a crook, Yet the guys who are the top names in Bass fishing, use and even endorse my inventions. You may claim I'm arrogant, filled with pride, and stupid for defending these products against unsubstantiated criticism, well Why should I let such comments be made without defending myself "Rodney" wrote in message news ![]() go-bassn wrote: I used to Dan, in fact I was dead-against motorguide. Its a tough call. I'm pretty hard on my equipment, but so far my two Minn
Kotas seems to be holding up better than the one Motorguide I had or the old Evinrude I still have. Bob La Londe www.yumabassman.com "Boilermaker" wrote in message ...
