I work for Larry Belk at Belk Refrigeration, a 3 man company at
present. It's winter, and things are slow. Larry calls me this morning
and asks me to come to his house and bring my fishing gear. GREAT BOSS,
HUH! He takes co-worker Bobby and me to a 30 acre private lake he has
access to, puts us in a jon boat and puts us on the fish. In about 5
hours time, all together we caught about 25 - 30 bass, most in the 2 to
4 lb. range. Bobby laid into a big one full of eggs that showed 9lb.
5oz. on my digital scale. We oohed and aahed and I snapped a few pics
and Bobby put her back to catch another day.
Now I'll try to answer your questions before you ask. Air temp in the
50's, winds 5 to 10, mostly cloudy. Almost nothing caught unless the sun
was out. Most fish caught on white or yellow spinnerbaits, light brown
plastic creatures, white bass assassins, and when the wind was up I
nailed several on a jitterbug. The big one was caught on a white
spinnerbait with siver blades, one willow and one colorado.

That may be part of why he took us out. We are starting TWO major
supermarket remodels to be done simultaneously, mostly middle of the
night work, starting Monday. He wants to try to do it without hiring
additional help. I like working for him, you work really hard when you
have to, and play whenever you don't! This is the 3rd trip out in 2
years.
