Daiwa spincaster reel question
I just bought a Daiwa Goldcast III spincast reel to replace a Zebco 33.
On the retrieve, the Daiwa makes a "ratcheting" sound, while the Zebco is silent. Is this noise just the design of the Daiwa, or is it defective? Thanks!

Is there a selector switch on the unit? A lot of spincasters including the
Zebco 33 have a clicking retrieve with a "bait" select or "bait" clicker setting. I've used Goldcasts for many years. Every so often they start to do
this. It doesn't seem to hurt but I find it annoying. Disassembly and cleaning with new lubrication has corrected the problem.
