BPS is wrapping up their Fishing Extravaganza, or whatever they call it. It
ends today, I believe. I was in there Friday night looking at the XPS/Curado 200/201 combo for $139. A great deal in its own right. I asked the sales person if I could upgrade to the superfree reel (201BSF) for the $30 difference in the regular price of the reel. He said no. The combo price on the superfree is $199. I was dissappointed because they have let me do an upgrade like that before. Well, their website is a little different. Last night I ordered a 7' med XPS rod with a 201BSF for a buck 49 last night. That's the regular price of the reel. Even with the $12 shipping and the extra $5 for the long one-piece rod, I still come out thirty bucks better than the store price Check it out. If the following link does not work, for some reason they are listed under spinning reel combos. http://www.basspro-shops.com/servlet...=41403&hvarDep t=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=3&hvarSubCode=2&hva rTarget=browse |

When you browse the combos, you can't see them unless you know this URL. Or at least, when I browse the combos it doesn't show up. Ordered my 6'6 M, with a weight kit and some Cajun Red Cast today, tho. Now....I just have to wait till the last Saturday in June. (sigh) |

Anyway, as of right now (Tuesday 9:30 PM EST), the prices were still good. I have assumed that the sale is off in the store, but I don't know for sure. I do know that for some items, the catalog operation and the stores are a little different. I just got my confirmation of shipping and they break the price down as rod: $46.58, reel: $103.40. Not too shabby. The regular combo price is $200, separately they go for $249 when not on sale. |
