Default Good free news services

I just received an email from news.individual.net (the old news.dfn.de)
that it will charge an annual fee as of 1 April.

Can anyone recommend another *good* free service?

I finally gave up on the free NNTP services - too spotty. Most ISPs have
a contract with one of the news services and don't house their own
servers. The ISP I use at work has a month-to-month agreement with
giganews for so much bandwidth from the 21st of one month to the 20th of
the next. Every month around the 12th or so, us NNTP users were SOL
until the 21st because they had used their allotment. Since roff is
*far* too important to miss, I happily pay $4.95/month to supernews. 10
Euros a year sounds like a great bargain, and it gives them some
incentive to keep things running.

YMMV.

Scott Seidman glommed me on to the one I'm using now.
It's free and it's been very reliable. It did take about 10
days before my account was activated.

Which one is that? I use individual.net also, but have not gotten the email
about charging a fee yet.

Alas, this is the one that's pulling their free accounts. Still, 10 euros
a year is very reasonable for a service this reliable.
