If it's any consolation... I've only been three times, and only caught three
fish.

Yall are just too far north. Thru March 31 I had fished 17 days and
landed 51 keepers and 8 throwbacks. In April so far I have fished 8
days - just got back from five days at our Top Six - pitiful this year,
6 bass weighing 11 pounds in two days.

Maybe both of you can catch up when it warms up there!

I don't know about being too far north. We may have to wait a bit to get
started, but that sounds like a typical first morning of the season on
Champlain, not the first month!G

I guess the fishing just isn't that good - or maybe it is me. That was
for three months, not one. January - March. I did manage to win two
club tournaments and place in the top five in three more of the six I
fished.

It's not you, Ronnie. It' just that the quality of a fishery is about
the quality of the fishery, not the latitude of the fishery. There are
very few public waters at any latitude that can hold a candle to Champlain.

West Point this year - we had 86 teams. I ended up in 139th place with
11.19 pounds. Took 30.64 pounds to win, 23.57 to make the 12 man state
team and 19.12 to make the top 25.

Thats a good sack from how I ever did on West Point.I used to always catch
fish there but nothing over 3-4 lbs. ever.I spent most of my time in
YelloJacket Creek and fishing the pond dams back towards Highland Marina
back in the day.
Thanks.
