Rusting hooks

I get rusting on my hooks. Crankbaits, worm hooks, etc..

Finally I want to deal with it.

How do you guys prevent it?
It isn't always practical to let them air dry before putting them back in
the tray.

Will those silica packets work? If so where can I get them in bulk?

Switch to nickel plated hooks?

I swirched to all black nickel hooks. they work, no more rust,,

Heck -- I don't keep my hooks long enough to rust. Usually, they get caught
on an overhanging tree limb that I can't reach or snagged on a rock or log
at the bottom of a pond or lake...

Before changing lures, with about 18 inches of line hanging off the rod
tip, swing it around in a circle as fast as you can for 8 or 10
revolutions. It'll be dry as a bone when you put it away. Even dries out
jig and spinnerbait skirts. Unless of course, it's raining, in which case
it might not work too well with any kind of bait.G
