You had fun, took some outstanding photos, and at least your dad caught some big fish. :-) High water? Those photos and descriptions of Henrys Fork were fun to read, because I've been to all those spots, but it's been too long. Makes me want to go back. -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

SWMBO and I were in that area a couple of years ago. In fact, in the first picture of the Madison (the one at the Raynolds Pass Bridge), you can see the house that we rented. It's the one behind the tree that's perched right above the river. Great place and unbelievable location. That bend above the island was a very popular spot, as well as the channel on the far side. I was awed by the falls (Upper Mesa, I believe it was called) too. SWMBO and I took almost as many shots as you did. :-) Thanks for sharing that. It brought back some fond memories. Chuck Vance |

Chuck Vance Hi Chuck, Glad you liked the report! My idea for it was that I could get people to see what the area looked like from my perspective as well as to do what I've done for you which was to rekindle a memory. When you get a chance, you should do yourself a favor and get back out there!!! Hey, thanks for reading that and replying. I hope others get some enjoyment from it too! When you get a chance, you should do yourself a favor and get back out there!!! I plan to. It was our first trip there, so we wound up doing a lot of sightseeing (and not nearly enough fishing). But I identified a lot of places I want to return to. (You might want to also check out some of the water towards/in Yellowstone if you get back.) For now I'll have to be content to spend a week fishing the streams in and around the Smokies and Graham County, N.C. I leave tomorrow. :-) Thanks again. Chuck Vance |

![]() Interesting report--seems you guys hit it just right---I''ve been lucky enough to float four times while out west--first trip on Madison my squaw and I caught so many nice fish we ask the guide to fish awhile and give us a break- next trip somewhere south of madison with fly fish [I think] where I caught a few trout and whitefish--next trip in Guink boat with Warren almost froze and caught zilch--last trip with John over by Rock Creek -sun was so hot my toenails got sunburned Really appreciate my fellow Roff fellows who furnished their boats to clave and were nice enough to spend their vacation hauling us around bur really have decided I would rather find a wading spot. Re your discussion of charging for flies--have not fished with many guides but find I never have the flies they want me to use-if they are looking to make money just add it to price before you agree to fish with them Really liked fishing in New Zealand where you are not expectet to tip guides. Would enjoy your comments about tips expected by guides----you somehow came over as a good but cheap fisherman Indian Joe |

Your trip brought back some good memories. I've been to Henry's Fork twice. One time the fishing was awesome and the other it was VERY tough. Willi |
