Has anybody here looked at the forums at Hook and Sinker? The bass fishing
forum is an exact mirror of the activity here. I don't mean like some of
the open sites that were/are mirroring the NG, but it is a forum type
interface that makes people believe that the content is native to that site.

I'll register for an account and see if my replies pop up here in the NG.

Yes the posts do go back and forth between the forums and newsgroups.
When we installed the interface we posted on the newsgroups and made
that perfectly clear. We do not try to make anyone believe it is only
native to this site. This is no different than google groups, we even
respect no archive posts. We can also filter out spam and trash posts
that fill up the newsgroups, so that the people that love the
newsgroups but don't want to deal with the spam can come here.

Yes, but is appears that Mr. Fishman was aiming at spamming/flooding your
site and ended up disrupting our lives instead. While you are busy filtering
your own board, you can't filter what comes across to our board.

Since this originated from your site, maybe your ISP needs to get involved
in stopping this, or is this something you can do yourself?

Fishman was spamming News (every article, independent posts) from my
website USABassFishing.com, I had to remove very useful RSS feeds in
response to the overwhelming spam from his posts in here.... still
upset about all that!

I missed the mention on your site that states your bassing forum is stickly
pulling post from Usenet. You _don't_ try to make people think those are
posts on your site?

You mean like the spam that _your_ pushing into ROFB?

Even more interesting... your posts were listed on HS's forum now for
some reason they no longer show up. Wonder why.

You know I don't mind a usenet portal that is properly setup to prevent
abuse. I even suggested we do it on the ROFB website for the regulars when
they are on the road. I just thought it was interesting that he made no
mention of usenet. It just looked like another forum like the one on my
website, or bass boat central or TFF or any of a number of others.

I wonder if he deleted my account too or just my posts. No big deal.
Anybody catch any fish this weekend? I took the kids out and we caught a
few. Pictures are posted on ABPF.

Well, I did get out of the house and on the lake this past Saturday but
no fish. I was only on the lake for about 2 hours and only fishing for
about an hour of that. One of those days that I did not even care if I
caught fish... just wanted to get out of the house

Also, forgot to put on all my electronics before leaving. Went to
semi-new lake mainly to take a "look around". Hard to get a feel for a
new lake without electronics

Did get to try out my new lifevest (yes, I'm a little unusual). Not in
the water... just wearing it. I like to be big on wearing a lifevest
whenever operating at upper speeds. I try to set an example for others
that it's the "cool" to wear them. They have mesh on the top. Seem to
be cooler for the weather here in Florida.

Yes they were removed, as was you account. Why because, why be
affiliated with people that do nothing but whine. If you looked at the
front page idiot would would see that IT DOES reference UseNets. Also
there is no sense in offering something to help people by giving them
the usenet groups without all the crap in it when all you seem to want
to do is bitch anyway. So I removed the sync to this newsgroup and
removed your account. BOB - read the front page, you moron

Wow! I'm a "moron" and an "idiot." Such sensitivity. I think I'll archive
all these nice reasonable posts by our "friend" (please note the quotes).
I'm sure his future advertisers will find it to be enjoyable reading. Up
until he chose to be blatantly abusive to me I was just going to continue to
express my opinion nicely. Then again, is it really worth my time? Only
the future will tell.

I'm still wondering why he got so defensive. All I did was point out the
way his forum was setup to mirror the contents of ROFB. Well, that and that
he may have been misleading potential advertisers, but that was only after
others drew attention to it.
