![]() Went out today and with Rich's answer to my post about best baits, I decide to dig out the Ozmo's he sent down to TN this year. Woke at 5 a.m and already had a conflict, Both weekend Tom and Dave V wanted to fish today. Now I hate fishing 3 on the RLM but hell we have done it before, only it usually winds up with them two cussing each other out because they tangle each other and stuff. I have done a ton of fishing lately both night and morning and the fishing has been good, real good in fact. I have been locating fish in open water hanging in weeds and stumps. Today was no different, with a hand full of Ozmos and Dave and Tom loaded up, we shoved off. I rigged my Ozmo on a 4/0 texposer with a 1/16 oz worm weight. Two casts and I feel a bump, set the hook and the first fish is in the boat is a solid two pound keeper. I smile for the picture, give Dave and Tom the finger and procalim "It's on", an enthusiastic "Bring it" from Dave is all I need to get the competitive juices going. We hit a nice point off the big lake here and Dave is throwing a Buzzbait, birds are diving as minnows are being pushed up to the surface, SLAM!! Dave hits a big fish on a buzzbait, I estimate it at around 4 pounds but it weighs in at 3.9, still a nice fish and enough of a fish to have me drop the Ozmo and grab my buzzbait Rod. It was the right choice as my next cast gets hammered and I get a nice 4 pound even bass, thank god for trailer hooks. Tom grabs two small bass on a wacky craw, I go back to fishing the ozmo. We threw around for a while before I hit the next bass a 1 pounder on the Ozmo, Tom hits his third bass on a speed worm another small bass. We head back to the open water determined to catch a few more big fish. I rig up a 7 3/4 fin-s fish in Golden shiner, or arkansas shiner don't really know what the color is called but soon Tom and Dave were throwing the same thing. Unfortunately no takers on it, I was surprised. We head to the back cove where I got my second buzzbait fish another right in the 1-2 pound range. We hit a shoreline loaded with weeds, Dave swings and miss's a fish and I follow with the Ozmo and land my 5 th fish a good keeper size in the 2-3 pound range, as I'm reeling my fish Dave sets the hook and we land the double, a few feet down I hit another one on the Ozmo. Tom follows with a 2lb 7ounce keeper on a speed worm, Dave follows with a 2.2 on a spinnerbait before calling it a day. I'm convinced those Ozmo's have some great action when you play around with the appendages(sp), dipped in garlic they were very nice to be fishing with today. Some pictures posted including some from recent days |
