I've been fishing the roanoke river for the stocked rainbows. This
is my first time stream fishing, I have always fished lakes. Caught my first one today, 12 inches, limit is 7. I used corn as bait. I have a sinker about 12 inches up the line from the hook, I have a swivel which I attach the hook too, size 6 I think it is. Also I have fire line on my spin casting rig, the 10 pound stuff, 4 pound diameter. Caught the fish about 5 pm Now I've heard people using all sorts of things for bait and making their own attractants. I've heard bread works well, anyone tried a bagle, specifically a garlic bagle? I heard garlic works as an attractant. I'm a do it your self kind of person so if anyone would like to share their knowledge I know I'd appreciate it. Anyone know if there is any difference between canned and frozen corn, is one more effective than the other? |
