Default opposable thumb/blood/ethics

Pretending I can use tools this morning, while working on some fence, I took
a nice large chunk out of the tip of my 'materials hand' thumb. Two hours
of pressure later it is still seeping blood, but I tried to tie a fly
anyway. It was supposed to be a spent oecetis caddis ( very important on
the Firehole that last couple years ), but not only did my inability to grip
things lead to a somewhat shoddy product ( it would still catch fish ), I
got blood on the wing tips and body

Does that make it bait ? Can I ethically fish this fly? g

Larry ( who clearly needs more to keep him busy but who called friends in
W.Yellowstone and Last Chance today and was told to not even bother thinking
about coming early this year .... fishing will be a couple weeks 'behind'
the normal schedule ... so here I'm stuck and I can't even tie flies .... um
blood on the space bar ... yuk )

Nice fly.
Wouldn't bother with the ethics, the blood will wash off after a few
soakings anyway.

Tying tip: Wear leather gloves when tooling about with implements of
destruction away from the tying bench
;-)

(who is yet to damage himself enough during the reno's to
prevent/hinder tying)

This is what boat building occasionally leads to:

......didn't do much fly tying for a while, after that

Am surprised by a quick skim of the replies no one has yet mentioned
that hereabouts there is a history of such accidents leading quite
directly to the discovery of new fly tying materials.....
