An Overnight Backpack Trip

Although it was early in the year to head up into the high country, I
figured with the record heat we've been having I'd take a chance and
hike in a "low" high country at about 10000'. It might still be frozen
or more likely there would be big snowbanks blocking the trail.

It's always a pleasure to see pictures of your trips.

Up here, we pretty much run out of trees at 10,000 feet. Are you
packing a float tube? Otherwise, tree lined lakes are kind of a pain.
I guess that's why I like fishing above timberline.

The reservoir looks like one we passed on a train trip we took a few
weeks ago from Denver to Glenwood Springs. Very low.

I've only done day hikes so far. My new job is really cutting into my
physical fitness program and backpacking. I hope to finish up the two
well job in a week or so and get to backpacking and fishing.
