A short tale (with pics) of our weekend exists at http://www.cs.nmsu.edu/~jcook/Pics/gila2006/ Fun report. That country really gives me a sense of history. It's been too long since I've been horseback riding. I'm looking at putting together a combo horseback/llama trip to hit some remote high country lakes. The plan is to ride in a day's distance and get dropped off with gear and a few llamas to carry the gear. Then spend a week or so hiking around. Then get picked up by horseback and ride out. Figure we could get into some very remote areas and have float tubes to use on the lakes. Willi |
