I happened to upgrade my rod from an entry level to the tournment
level. I found the upgraded rod to be very much more durable. I snapped a number of the entry level rods but the tournament level rod endures. Is it generally true the durability may be function of price. |

In general I would say yes, but Lamiglas, Shimano, and G-Loomis expensive to very expensive rods with very fragile tips. Don't know about a lot of other manufacturers. St Croix seems to be lighter and tougher than say the cheap Quantum rods. However the Quantum Tour rods of comparable price are very light and durable also. Also, the speed and power of the rod certainly will make a difference in its durability. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

It would have to be a St Croix. Folks around here are starting to call G-Loomis "Brittle Sticks." Not me. I only owned one and I sold it shortly after I bought it. This is from guys who have several. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
