FLW at Champlain

Anyone who has been there knew that the FLW guys would smack the fish
pretty good at Champlain this week, but this is absurd.

189 of 200 pros and 127 of 200 'co-anglers' weighed in limits today. Lord
only knows how many fish were actually caught and culled, but the 1,811
that were actually weighed in weighed more than 4,480 pounds. That's an
AVERAGE of just about 2.5 pounds apiece. A 3 pound average limit would put
a pro angler in 67th place today.

The disturbing thing is that 5 of the top 10 places are running south 1 to
2 hours to get to my largemouths instead of staying up north and beating on
Warren's smallies. The leader (David Walker) say's he's running 1 hour
south. I suspect that puts him somewhere between Little Otter Creek and
Bulwagi Bay, or maybe just a little south of the Crown Point Bridge.

I guess I'll fish WAY south this weekend to avoid fishing for fish that
have been pounded for 3 or 4 days plus practice.

Not to mention the ones that have been moved north during the tourney!

That's minmal. If 20 guys are down that far and take a limit north, that's
only a hundred fish a day. That's a drop in the bucket at Champlain.

While there are good fish all over Champlain Rich, I can tell you this - if
fronts roll in & pressure changes occur, I'd much more rather be relying on
"my" bronzebacks than "your" bucketmouths :-) So, who won & what color bass
did he bring in?

Smallies on beds are as close to automatic fish as there are. If I was
fishing out of Plattsburgh, I would fish smallies, too.
