I can't wait

As the snow drifts get higher here in Michigan, I know that sping is
just around the corner. Every year I try to learn a new bass fishing
technique, and this year it's the dropshot rig, I think from all the
articles I read, it will be a good one to learn.

Hey BF, I am in Michigan too, and it is Polar outside! Looks like the
weather will get up to the mid-30's next week and that is a heat wave to us
considering the past two months.

I am also going drop-shotting this year, especially post-spawn. I think
that has been the "hole" in my fishing technique - not that I know a damned
thing about fishing. I can't wait to get out on the water once ice is out.

To all of you out there looking at sucess stories about ice fishing up
north, mostly people spend a lot of time jigging in the freezing temps to
catch a couple of bluegill. Big deal. Considering my costs for the
equipment, I figure those bluegill cost about $50 apiece.

You think ice fishing bluegill are expensive, you should
calculate what it costs to catch a bluegill on a fly rod ! ;-)

I had a moment to fish at a picnic, and pulled out a 3wt sage SP, with a
Mastery line on a Ross Gunny. I caught one very expensive bluegill.

You're not kidding about the fishing time. Right now, I'm about to take a
course on tying Spey Flies. I figure if I'm not fishing them, I may as
well be tying something I can hang on my wall!
