Default Fly Rods for Bass

In response to a query of mine over in the fly fishing group
one of the guys posted a link to this review of 8wt fly rods.
I'm in the market for a 9' 9wt muskie rod and I found it very
helpful even though it's a review of 8wts. Since the 8wt is
considered a bass rod I thought it might be of interest to some
here. It's rare to find such an unbiased comprehensive comparison.

It's interesting to me that the Redington CPS at $300 stacks
up quite well with the $650 rods and that some of the more
expensive rods are at the bottom of the list. If I were going
to buy a fly rod for bassin' tomorrow and I had to buy it blind
through mail order without casting it first, I'd go with a 9'
7wt Redington CPS.
