Default Bass In Weedbeds

I went out fishing yesterday morning on a clear Michigan lake, I found
some weedbeds in the middle of this lake in about 7-9 foot of water. As
I slowly trolled around the large weedbeds I could see the bright sandy
bottom with some nice largemouth bass swimming all around, The water
temp. was 69 degrees and no wind, I couldn't get any of the fish to
bite, do you guys think them fish are always there? what would be the
best way to catch them.
Ps- I tried tubes, senkos and cranks

I would have tried a drop shot rig. There are probably 'some' fish in or
near a spot like that most of the time, but not knowing what kind of weeds
I'ld say if there isn't something else there those fish leave when the
weedbeds die.
