These are always a hoot to read.
Recently, a Grayson County game warden found an individual who had exceeded his striped bass limit. The man told the warden that he thought he could catch a limit then return to catch another limit. Charges are pending. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/news/news/030908e.phtml Recently, a Van Zandt County game warden apprehended a group of individuals who were spotlighting from a county road. The warden recovered a loaded shotgun with slugs and a spotlight from the vehicle. When asked why he was shooting slugs, the driver stated the last time he got caught hunting from a road, the game warden seized his good deer rifle. Multiple charges were filed. and my favorite - A Montgomery County game warden was out looking for dove hunters. While approaching where shots were heard, he observed someone standing on the tank dam in his underwear. Not knowing where the other hunters were, the warden decided to wait and listen for more shots. Shortly after noticing the person on the tank dam, he saw the person wade out into the tank and dogpaddle to a dove that had been shot, proceed to retrieve the dove in his mouth and dogpaddle back onto the bank. After contact was made, three teenagers stated since they didn't have a lab to retrieve the dove from the water and the one in his underwear was the lab volunteer for the day. They were found to be hunting without hunting licenses and had unplugged shotguns. Good luck! John |
